The Department of Computer Science at Southeast Missouri State University invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position to begin on August 1, 2024. We are seeking innovative scholars who are eager to contribute to the advancement of our academic and research missions in the dynamic fields of Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Computer Information Systems.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 credit hours, per semester across our undergraduate and graduate programs including:

  • BS in Computer Science
  • BS in Cybersecurity
  • BS in Computer Information Systems
  • MS in Applied Computer Science
  • MS in Cybersecurity

Teaching modalities will include face to face classes, online classes, and blended classes.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or ABD (with Ph.D. by August 1, 2024) in Computer Science, Information Systems, STEM, or a closely related discipline (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government-certified university).
  • Evidence of potential for scholarly excellence and high-quality teaching
  • Ability to contribute effectively to undergraduate and graduate teaching in the areas of Computer Science, with a plus for candidates who can also contribute to the fields of Cybersecurity and Computer Information Systems
  • Interest in collaborative research that complements and expands existing departmental strengths
  • Evidence of effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community

Successful candidates will contribute to the development of innovative curricula and delivery strategies, including traditional, blended, and online formats, and participate in initiatives promoting student success, retention, and degree completion.
