Detailed Job Description
The School of Information at RIT invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position, beginning August 14, 2024. The successful candidate will be able to teach a broad range of courses in Human-computer interaction and data management. In particular, we seek candidates who can demonstrate knowledge and experience in three or more of the following areas:

  • Structured data storage, retrieval, and analysis
  • Unstructured data storage, retrieval, and analysis
  • Database management and administration
  • UI/UX and interaction design experience
  • Usability testing or UX evaluation
  • Human-computer interaction

The College: The Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences prepares students to improve lives and change the world through computing; GCCIS is home to the departments of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, School of Information, and the School of Interactive Games and Media. The School: The School of Information (iSchool) is one of six administrative units within the College of Computing and Information Sciences, and oversees academic and curricula development for both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in three undergraduate BS programs, three graduate programs, and two advanced certificate programs. The iSchool provides leadership, administrative, financial, and logistical support to more than 700 undergraduate and graduate students with 30 faculty and 6 staff in Rochester and provides support of the school’s degrees at RIT’s global campuses in Croatia, Kosovo, and UAE. The school demonstrates the university’s commitment to the teacher-scholar model; it is among the university leaders in terms of grant generation and publications and the faculty consists of several teaching award winners and professional service leaders, including ACM president, and ACM SIG chairs. The school is also home to several labs and research centers and plays a particularly large research and delivery role in the university’s Computing for All efforts.
