The U.S. Coast Guard Academy, located in New London, Connecticut, is seeking a passionate educator in the School of Engineering and Cyber Systems.

Security Clearance Required:  Non Sensitive

Appointment Type:  These will be appointments in the excepted service as Academic Division faculty members assigned to a 12-month work schedule for an initial period not to exceed 54 weeks. Non-competitive extensions of the appointments may be possible in accordance with SUPTINST 12300.2d and SUPTINST 12330.A.

The Coast Guard Academy is seeking consummate engineering and computing professionals with a strong desire to educate, train, develop and inspire students who will serve as future leaders in the U.S. Coast Guard and beyond.  The desired start date is July 14, 2024.

The successful candidate will teach core engineering courses, computing courses, and/or upper division courses in the School of Engineering and Cyber Systems according to the background of the selectee and the needs of the school. Teaching load will be 9-12 contact hours per semester. The selectee may also be assigned to teach summer courses, participate in outreach activities, and assist with senior capstone design projects or undergraduate research as well as be involved in course and program assessment activities.
