Position Announcement
The Department of Engineering at Utah Valley University invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in Computer and Electrical Engineering with a focus in computer engineering or closely related areas to begin Fall 2023. The successful candidate will hold a B.S. and Ph.D. in Computer/Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and be expected to teach undergraduate computer engineering and electrical engineering courses. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, mentoring undergraduate projects, and course and lab development in Computer Engineering.

The successful candidate will design and teach computer engineering courses, prepare instructional materials, cultivate a student-centered learning environment, and help students succeed. They will apply teaching assessment results to improve courses, curriculum, and teaching effectiveness. They will support the department, college, university, and community through service such as committees and special projects and fully support the university and program-level accreditation efforts. In addition, they will engage in scholarly activities, including research and keeping current in the latest developments in the field.

The Department of Engineering was formed in Fall 2018. It encompasses four engineering programs (Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical) all of which are ABET accredited. A new Scott M. Smith Engineering Building is in the drafting phase, intended to be completed by Fall 2025.
